Swadeep Pillarisetti
Founding Partner & Managing Director
Swadeep Pillarisetti is a DeepTech investor and entrepreneur who has spent over a decade building and backing disruptive ventures across the US and India. As Founding Partner & MD at Blue Ocean Venture Partners, he works closely with early-stage emerging tech founders as an investor, advisor, and board member — helping them raise millions of dollars and scale globally.
He has been part of category-defining ventures such as AutoNxt, India’s first electric autonomous tractor; KoinX, the country’s largest crypto tax platform processing over $150B in transactions annually; and Morph Electric, which retrofits two-wheelers into EVs at half the cost of a new electric vehicle.
Swadeep has represented India on global stages, including leading a third of the delegation to S20, the G20’s startup summit, and speaking on panels alongside unicorn founders from Paytm, Zetwerk, OfBusiness, BharatPe, and HCL. He has chaired national startup conferences hosting tens of thousands of delegates with dignitaries including PM Narendra Modi, Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Kris Gopalakrishnan (Infosys), and S. Somanath (ISRO).
He has also worked with the Wipro CTO Office to set up one of the world’s first GenAI cross-border corporate accelerators across India, Europe, and the US. His entrepreneurial journey and initiatives have been featured in The Economic Times, Times of India, Indian Express, The Hindu, and more. One of his projects even contributed to a world record and an Amazon bestseller on entrepreneurship with over 30,000 copies sold.
An accomplished researcher, Swadeep has published multiple peer-reviewed papers in international journals and presented his work at leading global conferences. His academic background includes a B.Tech from IIT Madras, a Master’s in Bioengineering from Clemson University, PhD coursework at Georgia Tech (Whitaker Fellow, Outstanding Biomedical Research Award for artificial heart valve research), and advanced research in cancer drug discovery at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University.
